The Schneider Electric 56173 is a VigiPacT RH99M residual current protection relay designed for earth-leakage monitoring and protection in low-voltage electrical installations. It works in conjunction with a compatible Schneider Electric Type A toroid or rectangular sensor to measure residual earth-leakage current, tripping an associated circuit breaker when the set threshold is exceeded. The relay offers a wide sensitivity range of 0.03–30 A with 9 selectable thresholds and a time delay adjustable from instantaneous to 4.5 s in 9 steps. It operates on a 220–240 V AC 50/60 Hz supply and provides 1 NO + 1 NC + 1 C/O output contacts. The unit mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail inside a switchboard, features IP40 front protection, and requires a local manual reset after fault clearance.
